The "Schwarzwaldhochstraße"

The best-known panoramic roadway in the Black Forest is the "Schwarzwaldhochstrasse". It leads from Baden-Baden via the "Ruhestein" all the way to Freudenstadt (B 500). Exits branch off to the right and left into uniquely lovely valley scenery such as the Bühlertal Valley, the Murgtal Valley, the Hundsbachtal Valley, the Ortenau valleys, towards Herrenwies and the Schwarzenbach Valley Dam.

On a clear day, views along the road are offered across the Rhine Plain far into France.

The "Schwarzwaldhochstrasse" is a popular skiing area in the winter, too. Slopes include the "Mehliskopf", "Hundseck" and others all the way to the "Ruhestein", or the cross-country courses at the Herrenwieser cross-country centre.

Wer die Schwarzwaldhochstraße in ihrer gesamten Länge erleben will, darf sich auf eine Strecke von rund 60 Kilometern "Schwarzwald pur" freuen.
