Pamina Rhine Park

A region as museum – that is the basic concept of the PAMINA Rhine Park. It is neither a pure nature preserve nor a typical open-air museum. The PALATINATE, MITTLERER OBERRHEIN (Central Upper Rhine) and NORTH ALSACE regions give the park its name.

The most important museum-like piece on exhibit is the unique fluvial landscape with all its waterways. Looking at both sides of the Rhine, add on eight thematically co-ordinated museums, two nature conservation centres, numerous designated attractions in the region, stop-over points along the way and a well-linked, well-developed network of bicycle paths. A natural and cultural experience for residents and guests on a total surface area of over 350 square kilometres, and one whose central theme represents the mutual relationships between man and the Rhine. Each year thousands of people cycle along the picturesque Franco-German cycling route to the points of interest and enticing stops that tell stories in many different ways, inform the inquisitive and invite travellers to linger.
